...the only thing is, and perhaps I'm splitting hairs here, radios per se have been rapidly on the way out while digital radio has for two decades quietly making strides. It's why for example, CD101.9 NY is no more - NYC officially has no smooth jazz station.
But not to digress. So Madonna's video for Turn Up the Radio is out, looking very retro 60s, driven in a vehicle straight out of Bullitt, all sepia-toned and big hair, and I went what? The same way I almost shot buckets while watching the outrageously hot men cavort and writhe in Girl Gone Wild I will state I was irritated and just dismayed by her latest outing. It's not a song that's right for her, although she does sound great. I somehow picture Miley Cyrus singing this or someone blander - Heidi Montag, perhaps? Eh. It's a happy song, but it feels forced. It doesn't even sound like something she'd do when she wasn't the giant she is today - except for that lone and terrible incursion into 50s pop that was True Blue and even that one seemed cute. I'm going to say no to Radio and compare it in title only to Kathy Griffin's stand-up act, Tired Hooker. Watch that, instead.
Might someone direct her into understanding she has a better hit in I'm Addicted? Please? Anyone? Bueller? Are any of her yes people reading?? Ugh....
